CHAKRAS & KUNDALINI RISING

It is the discovery and appreciation of our Higher Self and finding the God within us that is the ultimate goal of the journey through the chakras.

The goal of this text on chakras is to help you understand "What are chakras, why are they important, and how do they support our bodies?"

Our bodies appear to be solid, but, in fact, we are 99.99% empty space filled with energetic, vibrating atoms, according to quantum physicists. Our entire body vibrates at a basic frequency of approximately 8 cycles per second, which is the same frequency as the basic electromagnetic field of the Earth. We are literally attuned to the Earth.

Chakras are whirling concentrated energy centers. They are measurable patterns of electromagnetic activity for receiving, assimilating, and transmitting life-force energy to and within the body.Chakras receive and transmit energy all the time. When perceived clairvoyantly, chakras appear as a colorful wheel or flower with a hub in the center, similar to fans with overlapping blades.

Chakras are located deep within the center of the physical body next to a hormonal gland along the spinal column. There are three currents or nadis, which flow in and around the spinal column, like the serpents spiraling around the caduceus. The current on the left is the Ida, the feminine force of passion and emotion. The current on the right is the Pingala, the masculine force of the intellect. Chakras are attached along the spine from the base to the top of the head and are held in place by the crossing of the invisible Ida and Pingala.

Chakras draw in Divine life-force energy (also called “ki”, “chi” or “prana”) from the Universe and distribute this vital energy to the physical glands and organs in the body and through the bloodstream and nervous system for optimum health and well being.

Chakras coincide with the body’s endocrine system. Each chakra has an influence over the endocrine glands and internal organs in that part of the body where the chakra is located. Sometimes, their influence covers a broader area.

The chakras also connect the spinal cord, the autonomic nervous system, and the endocrine system with our subtle body of vibration energy called the bioelectromagnetic field or aura. There are two primary electrical systems in the physical body. The first is the alternating electrical current of the nervous system and brain, which governs our muscles, hormones, and physical sensations.

The second is a continuous, electromagnetic radiation coming off our atoms which allows for an energy exchange between individuals and their environment. Each person’s unique energy field or aura makes up the person’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states. Scientists in the field of energy medicine agree that this vibrating energy field stores coded information about our past, present, and future health.

Chakras originated in the ancient Hindu system of healing dating back to before 2,500 BC. Yogis have used the chakra system for thousands of years as an integral part of holistic healing. Every living being, including the Earth has chakras. There are hundreds of chakras within and around you, but most psychics and healers are concerned with only the 7 major ones.

Some people are sensitive enough to see or feel the chakras. To try it for yourself, lie on your back and pass your hand over your front midline, from the pubic area to the top of your head, a few inches above your body. You may feel the chakras as intense concentrations of energy.

You may see the colors of the chakras with your inner eye or third eye even if you aren’t looking directly at them. This may be seen easier with your eyes closed using the inner eye. It may also be easier to try to see and feel the colors of a friend’s chakras rather than your own.

7 main chakras and their life related life issues

Besides their role in maintaining our physical health, chakras also oversee various life issues. Each of the 7 main chakras reflects essential aspects of consciousness and governs our lives, loves, learning, and spiritual awakening.

The 1st Chakra (Root) governs Physical Needs and Security. The 2nd Chakra (Sacral) governs Sexuality, Emotions, and Desires. The 3rd Chakra (Solar Plexus) governs Power. The 4th Chakra (Heart) governs Love, Forgiveness, and Compassion. The 5th Chakra (Throat) governs Communication. The 6th Chakra (Brow) governs Intuition and Reasoning. The 7th Chakra (Crown) governs Spirituality and Understanding.

The chakras are interrelated; one affects another. The Root Chakra is the lowest of the 7 chakras and spins the slowest or resonates at the lowest of the 7 vibration frequencies. The Crown Chakra is the highest of the 7 chakras and spins the fastest.

Each chakra is also a different color. The colors are similar to a rainbow and go from Red (Root) - Orange (Sacral) -Yellow (Solar Plexus) - Green (Heart) - Blue (Throat) - Indigo (Brow) - Violet (Crown).

Energy blockages or energy imbalances in the chakras.

Imbalances in the chakras are known as energy blocks. When there is unreleased emotion such as fear, anger or guilt accumulated from past experiences or when there’s been a lack of nurturing, love, and encouragement during the developmental period, the energy flows less freely to/from the chakras.

Whenever a person blocks an experience, he/she blocks the flow of energy to/from their chakras. The chakras become blocked, clogged with stagnated energy, spin irregularly or backwards or can even become distorted or torn. When the chakras are functioning normally, each one will be open and spinning properly to metabolize the particular energies needed from the universal energy field.

If you were to completely think thoughts of love and faith, your body's energy would flow smoothly between and around the chakras. You would probably feel happy and healthy . Fearful thoughts negatively affect your chakras' ability to function. They cause the chakras to become dirty, shrunken or swollen. That is why you may feel out of sorts or lethargic and not know why. Obsessive thoughts cause the chakras to enlarge and become out of proportion.

When there is an energy imbalance in the chakras, the chakras tend to close down starting at the top chakra (Crown) and moving downward to the Root. Many people close down the top three chakras (Crown, Brow, and Throat) by the time they are three years old as a reaction to the disbelief of their parents and society in nature spirits, spirit friends, and past lives.

During the teenage years, the Heart or 4th Chakra often closes down or becomes blocked because of pain and rejection from parents, peers, and lovers.

The Solar Plexus or 3rd Chakra may close down or become blocked when parents and society force teens into molds they don’t fit.

By the time many of us reach adulthood, we have closed down all but the first 2 chakras (Root and Sacral) and even those often have imbalances due to energy blocks.

The closure or imbalance/energy blockage doesn’t usually occur in response to a single event. It’s the repetition of similar events without relief that eventually closes off the chakra or causes the imbalance/energy blockage.

After high school, there is usually less pressure to conform and some people begin to reverse the process and start opening their chakras. Usually the Solar Plexus/3rd Chakra opens before the Heart/4th Chakra and so on successively upwards towards the Crown. But this isn’t always true. Some people don’t need to work on their higher chakras. It’s their lower chakras that need balancing. When your childhood and adolescence have been healthy and nurturing, you may be balanced and open in every chakra.

Identifying and removing energy blocks/imbalances and balancing our chakras

Yogis knew that a person’s illness often first manifests in the chakras before the physical body. They knew that no one could be completely healed if the chakra system continued to be out of balance. When there is a blockage or imbalance in one part of the chakra system, it has an impact on all the other chakras.

Imbalances occur when there is too much or too little energy flowing through the chakras. By understanding how each chakra affects a particular body function and life issue, it is possible to identify where a chakra is malfunctioning. Various techniques can then be used to balance the chakra system and restore health in the individual physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Holding negative thoughts causes chakras to become dirty with dense, dark energy. This prevents chakras from providing sufficient vital energy for the body. Unbalanced or “blocked” chakras create a whole range of mental, emotional, and physiological conditions.

Some say we come into this life with a certain set of life challenges already factored into our chakras. This partly determines our attitudes and behaviors.

Many therapists believe that the imbalances in our chakras are in part from our childhood and cultural experiences. They say that one of the ways we try and protect ourselves is by closing down the relevant chakra so we won’t feel those uncomfortable emotions. It is a defense mechanism.

There are many ways to balance the chakras and clear any energy blockages/imbalances. Some useful therapies and tools are: Chakra Balancing, Inner Child Retrieval, Intuitive/Spiritual Counseling, Spiritual Healing, Mediumship, Past Life Regression.

There is also Strong Desire, Clear Intention, Love & Forgiveness, Prayer, Sound, Massage, Dowsing, Yoga, Reflexology, Astrology, Reiki, Meditation, Visualization, Toning & Chanting, Healthy Diet & Exercise, Tuning Forks, Music, Crystals & Gemstones, Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, Oils, Perfumes, Incense, Color, Affirmations, Introspection, and Journaling.

We are made up of vibrating atoms, which appear to those who can sense the subtle energies as color and sound. Color and sound are forms of energy, which vibrate. As the vibration of sound becomes higher and lighter, the sound is transmuted into color. Color is visible sound.

Both color and sound affect the chakras, especially when used together. Each of the chakras or energy centers is associated with a specific tone of the musical scale and with a specific color. Certain music and tones can help heal energy imbalances in the chakras by assisting the body to release unwanted thoughts and feelings and to come into its natural state of balance and harmony through deep relaxation and entrainment.

When our physical, emotional, mental or spiritual bodies are out of vibrational harmony and sound and color are projected into the chakras, correct vibrational patterns can be restored enhancing overall well being. Sound produces changes in the autonomic, immune, endocrine and neuropeptide systems.

Quartz crystals amplify, transform, store, focus, and transfer energy. They are used in microphones, radios, TV equipment, watches, laser tools, and computers. Crystals may have profound affects on the organs, tissues, and cells as well as the circulatory, endocrine, and metabolic systems. When thought energy interacts with a crystal, those thoughts are changed to harmonic forms, which change brainwave frequencies and can alter consciousness. Thus, positive intention or affirmation combined with crystals can provide wonderful healing results.

The laying-on-of-hands as in Spiritual Healing, Reiki, and Therapeutic Touch have also been found to be extremely effective in balancing the chakras when done by a knowledgeable, trained, and experienced practitioner. The willingness of the client to surrender to the Divine, to ask Spirit for assistance, and to willingly release and receive, is paramount to allowing Spirit to work. Chakras can also be helped back into balance during hands-on healing through entrainment. The body wants to vibrate at a healthy resonance and will readily move from an out of balance state towards a healthy state when healing energy is available.

Lower chakras spin slower than those in the upper body and head. Lower chakras relate to issues of the material world, while your upper chakras relate to more spiritual issues. The direction chakras spin is often described as clockwise, although some say they spin in alternating directions and vary in the direction depending on if you are a man or a woman.

The concept of open or closed chakras is an oversimplification since there are really varying degrees of openness that can be experienced in different chakras. Even though we may be able to assign some illnesses, ailments, and emotional/mental imbalances to the chakras, there are interpretations that defy categorization and require intuition for understanding.

When the energy in a chakra is deficient, it can be treated with color visualization of that chakra's color or the opposite color called the antidote color to create balance. If the energy in the chakra is clearly excessive, it can be treated with the antidote color as it is visualized into the chakra as thought energy. For example, if a baby’s skin is too red, it is overly excited and could lead to conditions such as heart troubles and high blood pressure later in life if it becomes habitual. You can help the baby and mother to relax by encouraging them to wear blue clothes, listen to soothing music, bringing in blue flowers, using blue light in the home, and other “blue” techniques.

The antidote for excessive red is blue and the antidote for excessive blue is red. The antidote for excessive Orange is indigo and vice versa. The antidote for excessive yellow is violet and vice versa. If someone has excessive sexual energy (Sacral/2nd Chakra imbalance – chakra color orange), the antidote would be indigo which would help make the person feel less nervous.

An alternate treatment would be to use yellow which strengthens the Solar Plexus/3rd Chakra – chakra color yellow and puts that person more in touch with his or her own gift which enhances their feelings of self-worth and makes the person less desperate for a sexual partner.

The personality will usually reflect the energy of the highest open chakra or the chakra with the most energy and focus. Illnesses and ailments respond well to treatments using color visualization in combination with the other chakra balancing techniques already mentioned.

Other ways to use color vibration to help balance the chakras are by wearing clothing and jewelry with specific colors or by having certain colors in your home and office. Surround yourself with various colors of nature and flowers for balance as well. You can even ingest color vibrations as a food or juice or as colored water. Visualize the colors through your inner vision and absorb them as colored light. Through our sense of smell, we can also breathe the color essences or vibrations into our bodies through Aroma-Therapy.

"Kundalini rising"

Your body’s energy system is extremely powerful and should be taken seriously. The journey of energy upward through the chakras is spoken of as “kundalini rising”. According to Hindu tradition, when you are spiritually awakened to the Divine and your Higher Self, kundalini energy pierces each chakra from lowest (Root/1st Chakra) to highest (Crown/7th). The person is then said to have achieved enlightenment. It is the discovery and appreciation of our Higher Self and finding the God within us that is the ultimate goal of the journey through the chakras.

The goal of yoga is to awaken the kundalini to rise up the spine, awakening each chakra until it reaches the crown. When you inhale, energy moves up the Ida and when you exhale, it energy moves down the Pingala. Yoga teaches the student to bring the breath to the central channel, which goes through the center of the spine. The kundalini is aroused and rises through the chakras to the crown where it triggers the pineal and pituitary glands. It causes a rush of energy and a brilliant experience of cosmic consciousness often described as seeing the Pure White Light and having a sense of total identity with All That Is. This is a glorious experience of enlightenment for one who has been well prepared through spiritual discipline. Preparation is essential and usually takes many lifetimes to reach.

Mantra Shakti

The word Mantra is a Sanskrit word combining the two syllables: man, meaning mind, and tra translated as deliverance. A mantra is a pure sound-vibration intended to deliver the mind from illusion and material inclinations. Chanting is the process of repeating a mantra.

A mantra is a word or series of words chanted aloud or silently to invoke spiritual qualities. Chanting is used as a spiritual tool in virtually every cultural and religious tradition. In the yogic tradition a mantra is a sanskrit word given by a guru or teacher that has special powers to transform consciousness. In contemporary practice, a mantra can be any word in any language chosen for a specific intention. Mantras are verses from the Vedas, which, if recited correctly, in obeisance with prescribed methods & rules, and with complete faith and belief, create certain vibrations and cosmic nergy, which result in fulfillment of desires.

The Power of Mantras

These Mantras have been perfected by our ancient Sages and Saints, after thousands of years of perseverance & patience and are the most sacred & powerful medium to attain almost about anything in life, whether it is wealth, education or wisdom.
The appropriate Mantra, if recited while adhering to prescribed rules & regulations, under proper conditions and guidance of an Astrologer, not only solve problems, but also help in reducing mental strain & attaining peace of mind.

Each Mantra has a different use, and only the right Mantra results in the right solution, since each Mantra creates its own vibrations or cosmic energy.

How to recite Mantras

The Mantras should be recited softly, in a pleasant musical tone which increases concentration. The practice of chanting a mantra is used as a form of meditation. Sitting in a comfortable position, with the eyes closed, the mantra is repeated silently or aloud. The mind is focused on the mantra, the thoughts are let go of and the breath is slow and deep. A Mala (string of beads) is often used to count series of 108 repetitions. Mantra practice is done for 15-30 minutes each day.

The Mantras must be recited as they are, without any addition or alteration, otherwise they loose their power & cease to yield the desired effect.

The Mantras should be repeated in a systematic manner, without any stress or strain on the body & mind.

It is necessary to meditate & concentrate without having any of your problems or desires in mind. Purity of thought, sincerity of purpose & a deep-rooted belief is necessary for effectiveness of Mantras.

It is ideal to have good wholesome vegetarian food in small quantities & avoid intoxicants for better results. Over-eating or eating the wrong food stimulates the sensory organs & leads to over-emotionalism, the major deterrent in achieving one’s goals.

Few other facts about Mantras :

Mantra Yoga is an exact science. ‘Mananat trayate iti mantrah’—by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra.
Every Mantra has a Rishi who gave it to the world; a Matra or metre which governs the inflection of the voice; a Devata or a supernatural being; the Bija or seed which gives it a special power; the Sakti or the energy of the form of the Mantra; and the Kilakam or the pillar which supports and makes the Mantra strong.
A Mantra is Divinity, Mantra and its presiding Devata are one. The Mantra itself is Devata. Mantra is divine power, Daivi Sakti, manifesting in a sound-body. Constant repetition of the Mantra with faith, devotion and purity augments the Sakti or power of the aspirant, purifies and awakens the Mantra Chaitanya latent in the Mantra and bestows on the Sadhaka Mantra Siddhi, illumination, freedom, peace, eternal bliss, immortality.
By constant repetition of the Mantra the Sadhaka imbibes the virtues and powers of the Deity that presides over the Mantra. Repetition of Surya Mantra bestows health, long life, vigour, vitality, Tejas or brilliance. It removes all diseases of the body and the diseases of the eye. No enemy can do any harm. Repetition of Aditya-hridayam in the early morning is highly beneficial. Lord Rama conquered Ravana through the repetition of Aditya-hridayam imparted by Agastya Rishi.
Mantras are in the form of praise and appeal to the deities, craving for help and mercy. Some Mantras control and command the evil spirits. Rhythmical vibrations of sound give rise to forms. Recitation of the Mantras gives rise to the formation of the particular figure of the deity.
Repetition of Sarasvati Mantra ‘OM Sarasvatyai Namah’ will bestow on you wisdom and good intelligence. You will get inspiration and compose poems. Repetition of ‘Om Sri Mahalakshmyai Namah’ will confer on you wealth and remove poverty. Ganesha Mantra will remove any obstacle in any undertaking. Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra will remove accidents, incurable diseases and bestow long life and immortality. It is a Moksha Mantra too.
Repetition of Subrahmanya Mantra ‘Om Saravanabhavaya Namah’ will give success in any undertaking and make you glorious. It will drive off the evil influences and evil spirits. Repetition of Sri Hanuman Mantra, ‘Om Hanumanthaya Namah’ will bestow victory and strength. Repetition of Panchadasakshara and Sodasakshara (Sri Vidya) will give you wealth, power, freedom, etc. It will give you whatever you want. You must learn this Vidya from a Guru alone.
Repetition of Gayatri or Pranava or Om Namah Sivaya, Om Namo Narayanaya, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya, one and a quarter lakh of times with Bhava, faith and devotion will confer on you Mantra Siddhi.
OM, Soham, Sivoham, Aham Brahmasmi are Moksha Mantras. They will help you to attain Self-realisation. Om Sri Ramaya Namah, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya are Saguna Mantras which will enable you to attain Saguna realisation first and then Nirguna realisation in the end.
Mantra for curing scorpion stings and cobra bites should be repeated on eclipse days for getting Mantra Siddhi quickly. You should stand in the water and repeat the Mantra. This is more powerful and effective. They can be recited on ordinary days also for attaining Mantra-Siddhi.
Mantra Siddhi for curing scorpion sting, cobra bites, etc., can be attained within 40 days. Repeat the Mantra with faith and devotion regularly. Have sitting in the early morning after taking bath. Observe Brahmacharya and live on milk and fruits for 40 days or take restricted diet.
Chronic diseases can be cured by Mantras. Chanting of Mantras generate potent spiritual waves or divine vibrations. They penetrate the physical and astral bodies of the patients and remove the root causes of sufferings. They fill the cells with pure Sattva or divine energy. They destroy the microbes and vivify the cells and tissues. They are best, most potent antiseptics and germicides. They are more potent than ultra-violet rays or Roentgen rays.
Mantra Siddhi should not be misused for the destruction of others. Those who misuse the Mantra power for destroying others are themselves destroyed in the end.
Those who utilise the Mantra power in curing snake bites, scorpion stings and chronic diseases should not accept any kind of presents or money. They must be absolutely unselfish. They should not accept even fruits or clothes. They will lose the power if they utilise the power for selfish purposes. If they are absolutely unselfish, if they serve the humanity with Sarvatma Bhava, their power will increase through the grace of the Lord.

He who attained Mantra Siddhi can cure cobra bite or scorpion sting or any chronic disease by mere touch on the affected part. When a man is bitten by a cobra a telegram is sent to the Mantra Siddha. The Mantra Siddha recites the Mantra and the man who is bitten by a cobra is cured. What a grand marvel! Does this not prove the tremendous power of Mantra?

Get the Mantra initiation from your Guru. Or pray to your Ishta Devata and start doing Japa of the particular Mantra, if you find it difficult to get a Guru.

The Power of Affirmations

Positive affirmations are positive sentences repeated many times in order to impress the subconscious mind and trigger it into action. These sentences describe a situation that we desire to happen, and are repeated many times, with conviction, attention and feelings.

Imagine that you are swimming with your friends in a swimming pool. They swim fifteen rounds, something you have never done before. As you desire the respect of your friends, you want to show them that you can make it too. You start swimming, and at the same time keep repeating in your mind: "I can do it, I can do it...". You keep thinking and believing that you are going to complete the fifteen rounds. What are you actually doing? You are repeating positive affirmations.

More than often people repeat negative sentences and statements, concerning diverse situations in their lives, and consequently bring upon themselves undesirable situations. Affirmations work both ways, to build and to destroy. They are a kind of a neutral power. It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to bring good or harmful results.

Affirmations are similar to creative visualization. The repeated words build mental images and scenes in the mind. The words help to focus on the aim, object or situation one wants to achieve or create. Frequent repetitions make the subconscious mind accept them, and then it influences and affects the way one thinks, acts and behaves.

The conscious mind, the mind you think with, starts this process, and then the subconscious mind takes charge. This means that the most frequent thoughts that pass through your mind, ultimately affect your life and your destiny.

Affirmations work like commands that are given to a computer. They influence us, other people, events and circumstances. It might seem strange to you, but they do also influence the people we meet, our circumstances and the events we encounter.

Sometimes they work fast, but more often they need time. Repeating positive affirmations a few minutes, and then thinking negatively, neutralizes the effects of the positive words. You have to refuse negative thoughts, otherwise you will not attain positive results.

We often repeat affirmations, without even being aware of the process. We use them when we tell ourselves that we can't do something, that we are too lazy, or when we believe we are going to fail. The subconscious mind always accepts follows what we tell it. It is the same principle at work when we say to ourselves that we can do it, or we cannot, when say we are going to succeed and when we keep saying that we are going to fail. It is the same power working both ways. Why not choose the better way?

How to Repeat Affirmations

It is better to repeat affirmations that are not too long. A short sentence is quite enough. They can be repeated, when your mind is not engaged in something in particular, such as when traveling in a bus or a train, waiting in line, walking etc, but do not affirm while driving yourself or crossing a street. You may also repeat them in special sessions of about ten minutes each, several times a day.

There should be no physical, emotional or mental tension while repeating them. The stronger the concentration, the more faith you have in what you are doing, the more feelings you put into the act, the stronger and faster will be the results.

It is very important to choose only positive affirmations. If for example you desire to lose weight, do not say, "I am not fat, I am losing weight." By saying this sentence you are repeating to your subconscious mind that you are fat. The word "losing" also evokes negative images. It is better to say, "My body has an athletic form, and weighs the right and healthy weight". Such words evoke positive images in the mind.

It is important to affirm in the present tense, not the future tense. Saying: "I will be rich", means that you intend to be rich one day, in the indefinite future. You are actually telling yourself that some day you will be rich, never now. It is better and more effective to say, and also feel, "I am rich now", and the subconscious mind will work overtime to make this happen now, in the present.

As to results, sometimes they may come fast, and at other times may take more time to manifest. Achieving results through the power of affirmations depends on how much time, energy, faith and feelings you invest in your affirmations, on how big or small is your goal, and on how strong is your desire.

By using the power of affirmations you state what you want to be true in your life. You see reality, as you want it to be. For a while, you ignore your current circumstances and your doubts, and concentrate on a different reality.

Positive Affirmations

- I am healthy and happy.

- My body is healthy and functioning in a very good way.

- I have a lot of energy.

Why should you do ‘NADI SUTHI’ ?

There are 72000 nerves in our body. We can realize this clearly by experience through our nostrils. If the breathing is done by the right nostril it is called as Surya Kalai. It is also know as Iravi, Pinkalai. If the breathing takes place through the left nostril it is called as Chandra Kalai, also known as Idakalai, Mathi. The breathing process shifts between Suryakalai & Chandrakalai every two hours. The breathing starts in Suryakalai on Sundays, Tuesday & Saturday. And on Monday, Wednesday & Friday the breathing starts in Chandra Kalai. The breathing starts in Suryakalai on Thursdays falling on days after full moon and in Chandrakalai on Thursdays falling on days before New moon. Each of the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space) induces energy into the breathing from the time of birth to death. This is repeated for every 2 hours. [NAZHIGAI – 24 minutes – it is the max wavelength a human mind can travel at any point of time]. If we control this, we can realize and discipline your thoughts and mind. IF the breath rung thorough your both nostrils it is called KEVALA SUZHU MANAI, and if your breath stops at your navel it is called PURANA SUZHU MANAI or PURANAM. PURANA SUZHU MUNAI is the best for meditation. KEVALA SUZHU MUNAI brings sadness, worry and frustration in life. So during periods of KEVALA SUZHU MUNAI do not involve yourself in constructive works. If we control your breathing then diseases get removed, your brain nerves and ductless glands become purified and work actively. Your thinking will be towards good maters, bad thoughts get removed and your body cells open and brighten up. Thus leading to a healthy prosperous and knowledgeable life. I think you would have understood the necessity of NADI SUTHI.

BEWARE of Mirrors (Girls Read carefully)

(Have you seen recent advertisement of M/S SAINT GOBAIN GLASSES shown in TELEVISION'S?

- Then you must have known about 2 Way mirror & is also shown in Hindi Movie HUMRAAZ) How to determine if a mirror is 2 way or not (Not a Joke!) Not to scare you, but to make sure that you aware.

Many of the hotels and textile showrooms cheat the customers this way & watch privately. HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR When we visit toilets ,bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, are actually a 2-way mirror i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them). There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms or bathroom or bedrooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it.
So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?

CONDUCT THIS SIMPLE TEST:

Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!
(There is someone seeing you from the other side). So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything.
It is simple to do. This is a really good thing to do. The reason there is a gap on a real mirror, is because the silver is on the back of the mirror UNDER the glass. Whereas with a two-way mirror, the silver is on the Surface. Keep it in mind! Make sure and check every time you enter in hotel rooms. May be someone is making a film on you.

Ladies: Share this with your friends.

Men: Share this with your sisters, wife, and daughters.

The chief cause of obesity or overweight is often overeating, irregular eating habits and not following the rules of eating such as improper mixing of food items in one meal.

In ayurveda, Charak Samhita describes eight different types of bodies that are disease prone. Out of these, the obese body is described as the one afflicted with the most diseases and troubles.

Obesity is the condition or physical state of the body when excessive deposition of fat takes place in the adipose tissue.

Extra fat puts a strain on the heart, kidneys, liver and the joints such as the hips, knees and ankles and thus, overweight people are susceptible to several diseaseslike coronary thrombosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, gout, liver and gall bladder disorders.

Preparation of Home Remedies :

According to ayurveda home remedies are prepared in the same way and with the same purpose as other ayurvedic medicines. The main aim is to obtain the maximum therapeutic benefit while making it palatable.

Some common methods of preparing home remedies are:
Juice
The juice may be taken from the fresh leaves, flowers or stems of the herb. The part of the herb used should be crushed or ground in a mortar and pestle, to make a paste. This paste should be put in a piece of cloth and squeezed to take out the juice.
Dosage:
One to two tablespoons twice a day.

Powder
Dried herbs are used for powders. The herbs are usually dried in a cool, shady and well-ventilated place, although some herbs are dried in direct sunlight. The herbs are then ground into a fine powder and stored in a dry, airtight bottle. The powder may be taken with water, or if specified, with milk or honey.
Dosage:
Half to one teaspoon twice a day

Decoction
A decoction is prepared by boiling the herb in water (ratio: 1 part herb to 16 parts water). The herbs are broken into pieces and soaked in water overnight. This mixture is then boiled until it reduces to one quarter of the original volume. It is then filtered and stored in a glass bottle.
Dosage:
One to two tablespoons twice a day.

Infusion
Herbs are soaked in water to make an infusion (ratio: 1 part herb to 8 parts water). Hot infusions result from adding herbs to hot water, or gently heating but not boiling the mixture. This is strained and taken internally. Herbal teas are forms of hot infusions. Cold infusions are made from soaking the herb overnight.Honey can be added.
Dosage:Half to one cup once or twice day.

Paste
A paste can be made from either fresh or dried herbs. The flowers, roots, stems, leaves or bark are ground and mixed with water. Pastes are mainly used for external application, in cases of cuts, burns and swellings. The paste should be thick enough to be applied in a layer to the skin.
Tablets
The herbs should be first dried separately and then mixed together in a powder form, in fixed proportions. Water or herbal juice can be added to this powder to make a paste, from which tablets of a specific size or weight are made. Tablets remain potent longer than juices, powders, pastes or decoctions.
Dosage:1 or 2 tablets twice a day.

Medicated ghee and oil
Ghee is cooked with herbal juices, decoctions or pastes. The ghee should be heated with the herbal mixture at a moderate, controlled temperature. High temperatures can easily burn the ghee or oil, destroying its effectiveness. Medicated ghee and oils are either used internally or massaged externally.
Dosage:
Half to one tablespoon.
